Carlos Plazola — Cabo San Lucas wedding photographer

Behind the lens

Meet Your Cabo San Lucas Wedding Photographer

Hello,friend.

I'm Carlos — founder of Carlos Plazola Photography, a Cabo San Lucas wedding photographer documenting destination weddings across Los Cabos.

Photography for me has always been more than just taking pictures. It's about people. About learning to really listen, to connect with their world in a way that feels honest and respectful.

Every couple is a new universe I step into with empathy and presence. I listen, I smile, and I try to let you feel at ease — because that's when the real magic happens. When I photograph you, I see more than a couple — I see your energy, your connection, and everything that makes you unique. And that stays with me, long after your wedding day.

A few more things about me…

I was born and raised between the Pacific and the Sea of Cortez in Los Cabos. I grew up watching the way light shifts in Baja — golden in the morning, silver at noon, amber at sunset. When I picked up a camera for the first time, I realized photography wasn't about capturing moments — it was about feeling them.

I used to despise pictures when I was young, but when I experienced authentic love, it inspired me to capture timeless moments through the lens. I believe firmly that, when you fall in love with your unique story, it becomes your duty to share it with the world — and create a legacy with it to inspire others.

Today I split my time between Cabo San Lucas, San José del Cabo, and the resorts of the Cabo Corridor — bringing not just craft, but a deep love for the place, and a quiet understanding of what a wedding day really feels like.

About the brand

Our unique style.

The work is all about finding the right balance: guiding with elegance, observing with intention. Combining two different styles — editorial and documentary — captures a wedding day in the most powerful way.

Editorial bride portrait with heart sunglasses — Cabo wedding

Editorial vision

A timeless
elegance.

Beautifully composed images that feel artfully curated and spontaneous. Drawing on a love for fashion portraiture and the iconic beauty of Cabo San Lucas — like stepping into a magazine spread, with quiet glamour and effortless charm.

Documentary eye

A discreet
presence.

I observe attentively, anticipating emotions before they unfold — so when you look back at your photos, you're not just remembering how you looked, but exactly how you felt. Living and feeling every moment of your wedding day in Los Cabos.

The result.

This dual approach creates images that are refined yet real, cinematic yet honest — portraits that reflect who you truly are.

Photographs that remain emotionally powerful and timeless, even with a modern editorial touch. Because wedding photography isn't about following trends — it's about creating something you'll love today and cherish for years to come.

I seek out the beauty in every gesture with a trained eye and an empathetic heart, mixing spontaneity with artful direction so every image feels meaningful and full of the iconic beauty of a once-in-a-lifetime celebration.

More than a
photographer.

The best photos come from a place of trust. That's why I think of my work as a journey we take together — built on listening, connecting, and sharing a vision.

Working with me isn't just about hiring a photographer. It's about trusting someone who sees beyond the surface, who understands the rhythm of a Mexican wedding day, and who knows the timing of a Pacific golden hour by heart. I don't just capture your wedding — I become a quiet part of it.

More about the experience

“Your creativity definitely separates you from the rest! You're one of a kind, Carlos.”

— Janae & Wolf

“Our favorite moment was when you captured us jumping into the void — probably the greatest photo we've ever had.”

— Kamrynn & Brock

A glimpse into

What inspires the work.

The art of capturing emotion lives somewhere between the fashion-photography refinement of editorial portraiture and the quiet observation of documentary filmmaking — fed by the colors, the light, and the rhythm of Baja itself.

“Carlos was amazing at our wedding in Cabo. As we were coming from overseas, his communication beforehand really put us at ease. He was present for the entire day, very easy-going and made us feel comfortable. The photos came back and we love them so much!”
